Exciting Growth and Change

Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services (SFBFS) is growing and changing in many ways. SFBFS has been around since the late 1970s, but the organization is very different today than even five years ago.

It feels like just yesterday we broke ground on the new Education & Technology Center. I blinked and the Demonstration Garden just popped up. All this change is very exciting!

I remember when the idea of opening a new center was just on paper; sketches and outlines were being passed around at meetings. And just this last month we had our ribbon cutting ceremony. It’s wonderful to see things come full circle.

To think that SFBFS started in the basement of a church is incredible. In February, staff and three programs will move into the brand new Education & Technology Center - two stories high, twice as many computers and three times the space.

A client just came in recently beaming of excitement and looking forward to the opening of the Education & Technology Center across the street. A regular volunteer also mentioned how beautiful the building is looking and coming along. We are happy to hear the enthusiasm of our clients and volunteers during this time of change.

Share in the excitement with us. Swing by and take a look. Come on in for a tour. Bring some friends over and volunteer.
